Anxiety Aid International is a Scottish charity, number SC055392, based in Ayr. This notice explains what information this website collects and how we look after it. We have tried to write it in plain language.
The calming tools save nothing
The tools on this site, like the breathing and grounding exercises, run in your browser and save nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, and nothing you type into them is sent to us or stored anywhere.
Ask AAI, our digital assistant
Ask AAI is the chat window on this site. It does not store anything you type. There is no account, no cookie and no record of your questions. When you close the window, the conversation is gone.
It is not connected to any AI service. It answers only from wording we have written and approved ourselves, so nothing you type is sent to another company.
Ask AAI does not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and it has no way to send us anything. If you ask it how to reach a person, it shows you the contact form on this page and our email address. Anything you send that way is covered below.
What we collect, and when
We only hold information you choose to send us.
- If you use one of the forms on this site, we receive your name, a way to reach you, and whatever you choose to tell us. It reaches us as an email and is not stored on the website.
- Questions typed into the assistant are not recorded at all, and are never connected to your name.
- The calming tools on this page save nothing. They run in your browser and nothing you type into them is sent to us or stored anywhere.

- To understand and improve what we offer.
Who we share it with
We do not share what you send us with anyone outside the charity without your agreement, unless we believe someone is at serious risk of harm and we need to act to keep them safe, or the law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies needed to make it work. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
We do count visits, so we can see which pages people find useful and show funders that the site is being used. We do this without cookies, using a tool that runs on our own website and keeps the figures on our own server. Nothing is sent to any other company, nothing identifies you, and no record is kept of which individual looked at what. If your browser asks not to be tracked, we honour that and count nothing at all.
How long we keep things
Messages reach us as email and we keep them only as long as we need them to help you. Our trustees are agreeing exact retention periods and this notice will be updated as soon as they do.
Children and young people
We take extra care with information about anyone under 18, in line with our Safeguarding Policy and guidance on children's privacy.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form and we will respond.

Who is responsible for your information
Anxiety Aid International is responsible for the information you send us. The law calls this being the data controller. We are a Scottish charity, number SC055392, based in Ayr.

Why we are allowed to use it
- When you send us a message, we use your details to reply to you. You would expect us to do this. The law calls this legitimate interests.
- You do not have to tell us anything about your health. If you choose to, we only use it because you chose to share it with us. The law calls this explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a)). You can change your mind at any time by contacting us.
Who handles it for us
Other companies handle some information for us, only so that this website and our email work. They are not allowed to use it for anything else.

If you give a donation
Donations are made on a secure payment page run by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us, and this website never sees them.
Stripe tells us your name, your email address, the amount and the date, so we can send a receipt, look after monthly gifts and keep the accounts a charity must keep.
Stripe also uses your information to process the payment and prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
We keep donation records for [Trustees to confirm: donation record retention, usually six years for charity accounts]. We never sell or share donors' details, and we only contact you about your gift unless you ask us to.
How long we keep messages

Your rights
